Job Title: Internal Audit and Compliance Officer

Accountable To: Regional Project Manager

Terms of Employment: 1 year contract with possible exptension

Salary: As per the project scale

Duty station: Dire Dawa

Duties and Responsibilites:

Conduct an internal auditing of the project at different levels form regionals to woreda and community levels

Reviews financial transactions for the period under review; account balances at the end of each closing perios

Verifies the operation and use of the designated account in accourance with the financing agreement

Reviews the adequacy of internal controls for the type of disbursement mechanism

Gives comments and observations on the accounting records, system and controls that were examined during the course of the audit

Identifies specific areas of weakness in project accounting and control system and make recommendations for thier improvement

Reports on the degree of compliance of eache of the financial covennats in the financing agreement and give comments if any on internal and external matters affecting such compliance

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degre in Accounting or in a rlated field of study

Expereince: 8 years in auditing, preferably in donor funded projects
