The Investment Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive financial and market analyses to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities for East African Holding. This role supports strategic decision-making by providing data-driven insights, risk assessments, and performance evaluations of existing and prospective investments. The Analyst ensures informed shareholder decisions through detailed research, financial modeling, and regular monitoring of economic trends and market dynamics.

Duties and Responsiblities

  1. Conduct in-depth research and financial analysis of markets, industries, economies, and companies to identify potential investment opportunities.

  2. Providing detailed financial models and valuation analysis reports on the exiting business for various decision by the shareholders. 

  3. Monitoring market trends, economic indicators, macroeconomic data and relevant news that affect the investment landscape.

  4. Preparing and presenting investment recommendations to portfolio managers, senior management or the shareholders as appropriate. 

  5. Monitor investment performance relative to expected return and risk, ensure compliance consistent with investment policies, strategies and guidelines, and report significant changes and/or discrepancies.

  6. Collaborating with other investment professionals, including portfolio managers and analysts, to discuss strategies and market insights and align recommendations.

  7. Developing performance reports and presenting findings on various investments, sectors, and markets.

  8. Identify investment opportunities based on both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the overall business scenario.

  9. Analyze financial statements, key performance indicators (KPIs), and industry benchmarks to provide recommendation for the shareholders. 

  10. Support due diligence processes for potential acquisitions, merger or investment opportunities.

  11. Maintain and enhance databases of financial, market, and industry information.

  12. Prepare investment reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and shareholders as appropriate.

  13. Evaluate the risk and potential return of various investment assets or portfolios and provide well organized reports for shareholders.

  14. Stay updated on economic trends, market news, and regulatory developments to anticipate investment risks and opportunities.

Job Requirements

Required Qualification:

The Ideal candidate shall have at least Master’s degree in Finance and accounting, business management, economics, or other related fields with relevant progressive experience for more than 10 years in high-level industry experience in analyzing new investments opportunities, conducting business profitability and oversee the macro-economic conditions to give insight for decision making in private or public enterprise. Additional international certification is a plus.

Competence requirement:

  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and economic principle.

  • Ability to analyze financial statements and develop valuation models for different asset classes.

  • Strong research, analytical, and quantitative analysis skills.

  • Deep understanding on analytical techniques and tools commonly utilized in investment management.

  • Knowledge of statistical concepts, methods, and models and their application to investments

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data and provide actionable insights.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong understanding of current industry trends and technologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges

  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Strong multi-tasking and strategic thinking ability.
