Job Summary
OWDA is seeking a qualified IT Officer to manage the organization’s overall IT operations. The role involves maintaining IT infrastructure, providing technical support, ensuring system security, and supporting staff in their day-to-day technology needs. The IT Officer will also be responsible for managing and supporting the organization’s internal systems.
Main Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for staff on IT-related issues.
Manage and maintain the organization’s servers, internet connectivity, and network infrastructure.
Ensure data security, backup systems, and protection against cyber threats.
Support the installation and management of office management systems, databases, and digital platforms.
Maintain inventory and proper documentation of IT equipment and systems.
Provide training to staff on the use of IT systems and digital tools.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT equipment maintenance and procurement.
Ensure proper functioning of printers, scanners, communication systems, and other office IT equipment.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in IT management or technical support.
Job Competencies
Strong knowledge of network administration, hardware, and software troubleshooting, and system security.
Experience in managing office networks, databases, and cloud systems is an advantage.
Familiarity with NGO operational environments is desirable.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
