Job Summary 

Balezaf Alcohol and Liquors Factory P.L.C is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with established accounting procedures. This role requires a strong grasp of Peachtree accounting software and a proactive approach to supporting the factory’s financial health. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update day-to-day financial transactions in the Peachtree accounting system. 

  • Documentation: Prepare, verify, and archive payment vouchers, receipts, and invoices. 

  • Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and basic budget reports. 

  • Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations and verify accounts payable/receivable records. 

  • Data Management: Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize financial data and generate tracking sheets for factory inventory or expenses. 

  • Compliance: Ensure all financial activities align with company policy and local regulatory requirements. 

 

Job Requirements

  • Education: BA Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.

  • Technical: Mandatory expertise in Peachtree and MS Excel; familiarity with ERCA tax filing procedures.

  • Compliance: Basic knowledge of IFRS and local tax laws (VAT, TOT, WHT).

  • Traits: High numerical accuracy, integrity, and the ability to meet month-end deadlines.

  • Tax Knowledge: Solid understanding of Ethiopian tax regulations (VAT, Withholding Tax, and Employment Tax/PAYE).

  • IFRS Standards: Basic knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as applicable in Ethiopia.

  • Costing Awareness: Understanding of manufacturing cost components (Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods).

  • Data Integrity: Proven ability to handle confidential financial data with high integrity.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
