DeveloPPP.de Nedamco Africa Cloud initiative (NACi)
This DeveloPPP project aims at developing a sustainable training and employment program for cloud experts in Ethiopia and Rwanda. Within the project duration, 5,000 young people will have participated in the Cloud Engineer training program (40% women). Furthermore, 3,000 participants will be employed by Nedamco on a permanent basis for more than 6 months (40% women). In addition, 300 youth will have gained a Cloud Trainer qualification. Based on this project, Nedamco plans to offer qualifications as Trainers, Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, Development Operator engineers, Low Code No Code Cloud Software Professionals, Cloud Data Engineer/Scientist or Cloud Architects. These cloud experts will receive worldwide recognized certificates from either Google, Amazon or Microsoft.
Contract duration: Until December 31, 2025
Responsibilities
The Junior Accounting Specialist is responsible for
Ensuring that the provided services within the section are done correctly and on a timely basis according to GIZ Financial and Accounting Guidelines and are in line with the PuR.
Supports in processing payments via bank transfer and/or mobile money and deposits at the bank
Tasks
1. Accounting services
The Junior Accounting Specialist
Supports the processing of the bank payments for the assigned journals according to the GIZ rules and regulations.
Prepares the vouchers for payments ensuring all supporting documents are provided and vouchers properly validated according to the signature regulations.
Ensure the payments follow the relevant statutory regulations and files the required returns on timely basis.
Support in preparation of the Withholding tax payments, reports and reconciling of the unsettled withholding tax items.
Addresses issues regarding the payments with the recipients.
Reports all problems with financial administration and compliance without delay
2. Other duties/additional tasks
Prepares the monthly payments report for submission to the Ministry of Revenue.
Supports the project in the payments of workshop and/or training allowances.
Deputising for departmental colleagues.
Takes up other duties as assigned by the Senior Finance Manager
Required qualifications, professional experience
Qualifications
University degree in accounting, financial management or another relevant field
Professional experience
Proven experience of at least 1 year of professional working experience in finance in an international context
Other knowledge, additional competencies
Experience with IT-based accounting programs
Good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office) and openness to work with new platforms
excellent communication in English and Amharic.
Ability to handle confidential data and information, use of good judgement and discernment
Ability to work as part of a project team
Willingness to strengthen skills and competencies as required by the tasks.
