Job Title: Junior Chemist 

Department:  Quality Assurance 

Location: Addis Ababa 

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

SECTION B: JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

To ensure product quality and assist in research and development (R&D) by conducting laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. This entry-level position focuses on supporting senior chemists, maintaining laboratory safety, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

 SECTION C: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize chemical processes for construction material production.

• Conduct laboratory testing and quality control of raw materials and finished products.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry standards.

• Collaborate with production teams to improve efficiency and product performance.

• Research and implement new chemical formulations for innovative products.

• Raising Work and Material inspections in co-ordination with execution team.

• Coordinate and conduct material inspections with production and batching plant.

• Conduct research and experiments to develop new chemical formulations

• Perform chemical and physical tests, such as viscosity, pH, density, and curing time, to evaluate product performance.

• Keep accurate records of experiments, test results, and formulations.

• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in construction chemical technology.

Job Requirements

SECTION D: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or applied chemistry.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a chemist.

  • Experience in the Construction industry is a distinct advantage.
