Job Summary

Accountable to GF Project Manager (ISHDO HO) and Health Center Head, the Health Care responsibility is assisting KPPs including FSWs and high-risk population groups to get access to comprehensive healthcare services for KPPs, including SBCC, Peer session, outreach service, HIV testing and counseling, prevention services (e.g., PrEP, PEP, condoms), STI screening and treatment, Sexual and reproductive health services, Mental health services and Referral to other specialized services (e.g., legal aid, social support). She/he will capture daily service data and report activities of the DIC regularly.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Health Officer, Public Health or with related field of study.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years clinical experience, and must have experience and training in comprehensive HIV services, counseling and testing, STI screening, and providing other RH services.

  • NGO experience, specifically experience with KPP HIV combination prevention interventions in general and familiarity with DIC services, will be a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide intensive SBCC including peer session and distribution of tailored SBCC material to FSWs and other KPPs

  • Coordinate and conduct local area hotspot mapping and identifying KPP

  • Perform HIV risk screening using standard tools

  • Conduct community-based KPP focused HIV testing including HCT, self-test and referral linkage for treatment and additional services

  • Promote and distribute condom for KPP

  • Provide late-hour services, as well as holiday and weekend prevention and clinical services to beneficiaries.

  • Ensures quality of peer-based group discussion in alignment with the national standards

  • Organize mini outreach in hotspot areas and conduct awareness-raising sessions on PMTCT, ART, GVB, condom promotion and self-risk assessment for KPP

  • Make regular and successful referrals to health centers for ART, TB, GBV services, rape case services, and other complications.

  • Ensure that DIC equipment’s and materials including audiovisual equipment are functional and maintained in good situation.

  • Ensure that beneficiaries follow the rules and regulations of KP clinic

  • Create a conducive and healthy environment for FSW to access KP clinics.

  • Request, collect and efficiently utilized health commodities from HO/Hubs using standard formats.

  • Ensure that the KP clinic maintains enough stock (health commodity and supplies etc.) and request such materials in advance.

  • Capture regular service data using standard registers, DHIS2/MRIS formats both electronically and in hard copies

  • Review and verify data on the biomedical and behavioral interventions

  • Maintain functionality smooth relationship of the referral systems between KP clinic & network health facilities.

  • Create and maintain partnership and collaboration with local stakeholders and partners for effective implementation of the KPP service provision and have a close working relationship with local public and private health facilities

  • Coordinate identification & selection of Peer Service Providers in collaboration with Woreda Health office/Center

  • Participate in catchment area meetings and facility- community coordination platforms

  • Responsible in identifying and documenting success stories and best practices

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports for the ISHDO Head Office that includes progress, challenges, and any other issues pertaining to his/her duties.

  • Perform other duties assigned by his or her immediate supervisor

Skills & Competencies

  • Have a good knowledge and skills in conducting KP mapping, peer sessions, training coordination and facilitation, communication and report writing, and documentation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive professional attitude

  • Excellent written and communication skills in English and local languages

  • Ability and great interest to work in team and be good team player.
