Job Requirement

Education: TVET Level 4 In Laboratory Technician ,Construction Technology & Management or in any field of study.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years experience .

Quantity Required: 3

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise staff, provide technical support, and construct, maintain, and operate standard laboratory equipment.

• Sampling and testing of construction materials such as Fill materials, capping materials, sub-base materials, base course materials, Asphalt concrete ( From plant and /or paver ) as per Contractually accepted standards.

•  Inspecting site works such as mixing, placing and compaction of undercut replacement, embankment, capping, sub-base and base course.

• Conducting Field density tests in accordance with the frequency set in the ITP.

•  Inspecting structure works such as retaining walls, pipe culverts, slab culverts, ditches, Bridges and so on.

• Inspecting back filling of structures is in accordance with ERA STS or any other accepted standard in the contract.

• Investigation of construction materials like water sources, embankment Borrows, Sub base borrows, masonry stones, Crusher quarries and so on.

• Facilitating laboratory tests of different materials in a manner that the approval of the materials is before the planned commencement of an activity.

• Following up concrete works so that materials proportion is in accordance with the approved mix design.

• Following up concrete placing and vibration.

• Taking samples of different materials in accordance with the sampling frequency set for the project in the ITP.

• Following up Asphalt concrete production and/or construction on site.

• Recording, keeping and updating register log for all samples in the specified format (written and/or electronic.)

• Write reports and send to QA/QC Engineer in the project.

• Managing the laboratory equipment and ordering laboratory supplies, as needed.

• Working in collaboration with site crew to achieve the desired quality of works
