1. GENERAL Job Title: Laboratory Equipment Technician

Reports to: Testing Director

Department/Service: Testing Directorate

2. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Under thegeneral direction of the Testing Director, 

properly maintains laboratory equipment including highTechnologydigital equipment and keeps records thereof; 

Ensures thatall laboratory equipment are in goodworking condition at alltimes and have operation and maintenance manuals.

3. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans, organizes, and executes the maintenance and upkeep of all laboratory and related equipment;

• Plans and executes preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment;

• Undertakes, on regular basis, inspection work of laboratory equipment to identify their conditions and plan proper upkeep and maintenance measures;

• Identifies malfunctioning of laboratory equipment and undertakes trouble-shooting actions;

• Undertakes repair maintenance in cases of failure or breakdown;

• Ensures that all laboratory equipment have operating and maintenance manuals and that maintenances are carried out in accordance with the guidelines and procedures of manufacturers;

• Develops and maintains equipment life history record and other documentations for use in maintenance activities;

• Advises operators of equipment on proper operating procedures and upkeep;

• Participates in engaging external equipment upkeep and maintenance service provider when such services are required;

• Follows up and participates in the approval of the work and performance of external service providers; and

• Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

4.1 Education: BSc Degree in Electro mechanic, ,Electricity or closely related to high technology laboratory equipment 

4.2 Experience:4 /8 years of relevant experience
