Job summery

Abt Associates seeks a Larval Source management Environmental Compliance Field Assistant to support implementation and evaluation of PMI-funded LSM activities in eight towns in Ethiopia. Under the supervision of the Country Environmental Compliance Officer, she/he will be responsible for Larval Source Management activities detailed below

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Ensure safe working procedure during larval source management
• Ensure appropriate and timely disposal/recycle of solid waste generated during LSM activity
• Lead routine environmental assessments and store preparation and support the routine environmental monitoring.
• Supervise and perform routine inspection of LSM activity implementation, safe storage, use, and disposal of larvicides
• Participate in the training of community vector control technicians
• Provide technical assistance to LSM implementation teams and counterparts
• Ensure the timely preparation of LSM reports
• Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and supervision
• Performs additional tasks as deemed necessary

Job Requirements

Preferred skills/Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, environmental health, or another relevant field
• 4-6years of professional experience in coordination and supervision of IRS operation
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation
• Good communication skills
• Excellent computer and organizational skills
• Position No. Two
