Background
Geneva Global is an international philanthropy advisory and program management organization supporting high-impact social change. Geneva Global Ethiopia is implementing Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia (LiTE), a flagship initiative of Mastercard Foundation focused on strengthening teacher supply, instructional leadership, and student transitions in low performing secondary schools.
Position Overview
The LiTE Cluster Program Officer coordinates, supports, and monitors the implementation of LiTE activities at cluster and school levels. The role ensures strong field-level execution of teacher professional development, leadership strengthening, inclusive education practices, and pathways for improved student outcomes, including Grade 12 performance.
Key Responsibilities
A. Cluster-Level Program Implementation & Coordination
• Coordinate day-to-day LiTE program activities in assigned clusters.
• Support implementation of planned trainings, coaching, and school activities.
• Ensure strong collaboration among School Facilitators, Principals, Teachers, and WEO/ZEO offices.
B. Technical Support & Quality Assurance
• Ensure adherence to LiTE technical standards and Competency Based Curriculum implementation requirements.
• Provide coaching and on-site technical support to teachers and school leaders.
• Support CPD, instructional coaching, mentoring, and leadership activities.
C. School & Government Engagement
• Work closely with WEO and ZEO officials to harmonize LiTE activities.
• Support alignment with CPD systems, supervision practices, EMIS, and national priorities.
• Participate in joint school monitoring visits and review meetings.
D. Capacity Building & Professional Learning
• Support PLCs, CoPs, mentoring models, and school-based reflective practice.
• Facilitate peer learning and professional development workshops.
E. Partnerships & Local Collaboration
• Collaborate with NGOs, colleges, and teacher training institutions.
• Support harmonized and standardized implementation across partners.
F. Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning & Reporting
• Collect and verify school-level data.
• Produce cluster-level reports, success stories, and monitoring summaries.
• Use school-level data to identify gaps and propose improvements.
G. Safeguarding, Gender Equality, Disability & Inclusion
• Promote gender-responsive pedagogy, disability inclusion, and safe learning environments.
• Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed in all school activities.
H. Team Support & Internal Coordination
• Provide technical coaching to School Facilitators.
• Support performance monitoring and capacity strengthening.
I. Grade 12 National Examination Improvement Support
• Analyze schools’ Grade 12 exam performance and identify gaps.
• Support subject teachers with CBC-aligned instructional improvements.
• Strengthen remedial programs, study groups, and supervision systems.
J. Other Duties
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Field Regional Program Manager
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Competencies
BA (Master’s preferred) in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Pedagogical Sciences, TVET, or related fields.
Minimum 5 years' experience in secondary education programs.
Experience working with schools, teachers, and WEO/ZEO offices.
Strong skills in coaching, coordination, data collection, and reporting.
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and professional integrity.
