Defines and maintains maintenance plans and tasks according to the maintenance strategy. And has an in-depth knowledge of the Maintenance strategy and maintenance classifications and enforces the application of the strategy.
Utilize the asset maintenance process and transaction to execute maintenance planning and scheduling.
Understands the design, manufacture and construction of assets and the proper operating conditions required for the components within
Decides appropriate PM strategy, activities and scheduling of maintenance intervention from first principles to prevent failure root causes and component failure with business and operating risk in mind
Understands, explains and can undertake maintenance history analysis according to the asset functional location structure.
Prepare spare parts and all other resources to carry out preventive maintenance
Pre plan maintenance day, follow progress during the maintenance day, evaluate maintenance day and come up with improvements
Plan in cooperation with the maintenance unit heads, team leader, technicians and 3rd parties to carry out preventive maintenance
Prioritize work orders together with Maintenance manager and maintenance unit heads
Plan all activities associated with planned plant outages under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to provide for maximum use of available resources.
Register and Report all maintenance activities in our reporting excel based STD format
Ensure all labour hours, materials, and necessary notes or procedural changes associated with the work are accurately recorded within Excel, and work is closed in a timely manner.
Communicates directly with Purchasing and Inventory Agent regarding parts required and inventory levels needed to complete all scheduled Work Orders and PM Orders.
Manage and schedule maintenance activities such as inspections, instrument calibrations, and equipment preventive maintenance and validation assessments along with coordinating project workload.
Prepare and maintain a weekly maintenance schedule.
Creates maintenance notification and manages work orders accordingly.
Develops and reviews work order costing to improve accuracy of maintenance budgeting
Ensured maintenance activities are carried out according to plan and documented accordingly.
Manages critical spare parts stock in accordance with the maintenance strategy followed for each asset.
Authorize which risk parts should be kept in stock in order to guarantee the availability of the installation
Responsible to include all required spare parts on MRP with reorder level & updates made as required on MRP.
Responsible to ensure all required materials (Critical, risk, emergency, wear & tear parts) and services available for maintenance with communication of procurement and his direct manager
Monitor & Requesting purchase and service request on time on SAP system as required
Updating plant layout with the latest position and preparing sketching/drawing required to manufacture parts locally and when installations are modified.
Ensure all machine history is properly catalogued and documented.
Receiving& updating documents of supplier updates with equipment supplier/ with manufacturer support.
Requests for viable support from suppliers channell through appropriate channels,3rd line support called in only after internal channels have been exhausted.
Proficiently runs maintenance meetings and gets consensus and agreement to action decisions
Uses interpersonal negotiation and influencing skills to maintain the agreed schedule.
Has knowledge of Breakdown analysis methodology and process and can effectively explain to others.
Performs breakdown analysis with the maintenance team and ensure quality and completeness of analysis. Collaboratively participates in the development and application of solutions or corrective measures.
Has knowledge of and can explain equipment failure modes and failure causes as it relates to all equipment.
Undertakes failure cause analysis and investigation using suitable analysis tools through to determination of root cause
Can ably run and record Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FEMA) team activity and measure risk reduction on a risk matrix, then take outcomes through to implementation in the maintenance strategy
Facilitate in Implementation of 5S, participate in teams and reduce all technical downtime and energy and water consumption
Support the development of maintenance budgeting as per guidelines provided with maintenance manager.
Conducts maintenance activities with an optimum cost consideration, no compromise on equipment performance.
Manages resource planning with a focus on cost optimization.
Communicate with team on the progress of maintenance cost in all aspects of the activities carried out.
Ensure the installation and measurement of tools for all utilities and services like electricity, steam, water etc. and the optimization of utilization of the same.
Support the Maintenance Manager in preparing training needs analysis and develop training plans; accordingly, monitor that training delivers the expected results in view of the maintenance strategy.
Train all technician, operators, maintenance Team leaders on breakdown analysis,5S implementation and other Wilmar Standards.
Ensures an understanding of the maintenance team on the maintenance planning and scheduling process.
Trains a maintenance planning backup team member to ensure business continuity.
Cascade down the maintenance principles to the front-line operators and other team members.
Ensure CILT is implemented at the shop floor level with the support of the production leadership.
Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Enforce the use of PPE’s and availing & utilizing Relevant safety equipment and protective clothing
Enforce the use permits for all High Hazard Work carried out by team and any contractor in addition issuing of HHW permits.
Promote implementation of Accident Registration and Analysis when necessary and support the maintenance Manager during the investigation of the root causes for accidents
Reporting of unsafe conditions, nears misses, incidents and accidents & actioned as per procedures
Make sure housekeeping is maintained to the highest standards
Qualification:
3 years’ experience in a maintenance planner or maintenance role within manufacturing or FMCG industry.
Mechanical or electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent Degree
