The Manager, Infrastructure is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable technology operations across East African Holding (EAH) and its subsidiaries. This role oversees enterprise-wide systems including network architecture, cloud and on-premise solutions, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and infrastructure optimization. The Infrastructure Manager ensures alignment of IT infrastructure with business needs while upholding compliance, performance, and security standards. The position also provides technical leadership and manages vendor relationships to support the company’s digital transformation and operational excellence.
Oversee the architecture, design, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including on-premise and cloud-based solutions.
Ensure high availability and performance of networks, servers, and enterprise systems.
Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.
Develop and manage IT disaster recovery, data backup, and business continuity strategies.
Oversee procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT hardware and software assets.
Optimize IT service delivery, aligning infrastructure with business needs and cost-efficiency goals.
Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and proactively address potential bottlenecks.
Lead infrastructure improvement projects, including network upgrades, virtualization, and cloud migration.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and IT security best practices.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical expertise to the IT infrastructure team.
Establish infrastructure monitoring and alerting mechanisms to detect and respond to potential failures.
Implement automation for routine infrastructure maintenance tasks to improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with security teams to enforce endpoint security and identity access management.
Assess and adopt emerging infrastructure technologies such as SD-WAN, hybrid cloud, and edge computing.
Develop documentation for infrastructure policies, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Manage relationships with service providers, ensuring contractual obligations and service levels are met.
Required Qualification:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Professional certifications in various IT fields are highly required.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with hands-on expertise in networking, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft, Cisco, and Huawei infrastructure solutions.
Experience in managing IT service providers and vendor contracts.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and capacity planning skills.
Proven ability to lead infrastructure projects and implement scalable IT solutions.
Hands-on experience in configuring and securing enterprise networks, firewalls, and VPNs.
Strong understanding of cloud computing models and migration strategies.
Familiarity with ITIL practices for IT service management and operational excellence.
