Yimaru Academy is an English teaching platform helping Ethiopians master spoken English through engaging, video-based lessons tailored for Amharic speakers. We’re transforming how learning happens by combining technology, creativity, and community.

We’re seeking a Digital Marketing & Marketing Officer who will play a key role in growing Yimaru’s digital presence, increasing brand awareness, and expanding our reach across Ethiopia and beyond.

This position focuses on strategic digital marketing, brand awareness, and audience engagement. The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative — passionate about storytelling, community impact, and digital growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute marketing and digital campaigns to promote Yimaru’s programs and products.

  • Build brand awareness through targeted online and offline strategies that introduce Yimaru’s mission to new audiences.

  • Manage and grow Yimaru’s social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram) to drive engagement and visibility.

  • Work closely with the content creation and video teams to ensure consistency in messaging, design, and tone.

  • Support community engagement and partnership initiatives that enhance awareness and trust.

  • Monitor campaign performance and analyze digital metrics to optimize content and outreach.

  • Write compelling and clear copy for posts, visuals, ads, and awareness materials.

  • Stay informed about digital marketing trends and apply creative ideas that resonate with learners and educators.

Job Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Digital Media, or related fields.

  • Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience in digital marketing, social media management, or brand promotion.

  • Experience in EdTech, education, or awareness campaigns is highly valued.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Amharic.

  • Strategic, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.

  • Deep understanding of social media algorithms, analytics, and engagement strategies.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, creative environment.

Desirables:

  • Familiarity with graphic design, color theory, editing or video editing workflows.

  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute innovative design ideas.
