Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations within the material preparation section, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Safely operate loaders to transport logs and materials as required, ensuring proper handling and maintenance of equipment.

  • Utilize log grapples to manage and position logs for processing, coordinating with team members for operations.

  • Sharpen and maintain knives and cutting tools, monitoring their condition and addressing any necessary repairs or replacements.

  • Provide general support in material handling across the preparation section, assisting operators and maintaining an organized workspace.

  • Supervise daily operations in the material preparation department.

  • Coordinate the preparation and handling of raw materials for production.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory management.

  • Train and mentor junior staff on operational procedures and best practices.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve material processing efficiency.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement.

  • Maintain accurate records of material usage and production metrics.

  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating repairs.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education Experience: Diploma or BSC equivalent in Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing and Electrical Electronics Technology and a relevant technical field preferred. 1–3 years of experience in wood processing or a similar industrial environment is advantageous.
