The MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) Officer will support the design, implementation, and management of MEAL systems across Geneva Global Ethiopia programs. This role ensures robust data collection, analysis, and reporting to drive evidence-based decision-making and continuous program improvement. The MEAL Officer will also facilitate learning and accountability processes, strengthening program effectiveness and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The MEAL Officer is responsible for:
Monitoring and Evaluation Strategy Implementation
Develop and implement MEAL , methodologies, and tools aligned with program objectives.
Establish clear performance indicators and benchmarks for program activities.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor implementation and gather feedback.
Ensure compliance with donor and organizational reporting requirements.
Data Management and Analysis
Oversee accurate and timely data collection, entry, and validation.
Manage program databases and ensure data integrity and security.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify trends and inform program adjustments.
Produce data visualizations and dashboards for internal and external.
Learning and Knowledge Sharing
Organize reflection and learning sessions with program teams and partners.
Document and disseminate lessons learned and best practices.
Support adaptive management approaches based on MEAL findings.
Facilitate participatory learning processes with stakeholders.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare high-quality periodic reports for donors, management, and other stakeholders.
Develop presentations and briefs to communicate program progress and impact.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of MEAL activities and findings.
Capacity Building
Conduct training sessions for staff and partners on MEAL tools and methodologies.
Provide technical support on data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Promote a culture of accountability and evidence-based decision-making within the organization.
Job Requirements

Education and Experience:
BA degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, International Development, Education, or related fields.
Minimum of five years of experience in M&E, preferably within the education or development sector.
Strong experience in data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
Proficiency in M&E tools, methodologies, and software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, Power BI, Excel, KOBOTOOL, or other relevant systems).
Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and donors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in local languages is an asset.
