Job Title : Mechanical Technician/Mechanic

Reports to: Senior Mechanic

Department: Technic

Location: Harar and Diredawa

Job Summary:

Responsible for handling maintenance and troubleshooting of RDF plant machinery and equipment in his/her respective shift to ensure smooth operation. Solve technical

problems that affect production by following maintenance procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance according to approved schedules.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical faults in recycling equipment.

• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.

• Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to immediate subordinates

• Covers shifts or works for extended hours whenever there exists shortage of manpower

• Ensure all health, safety, environmental and quality management procedures are followed during performing maintenance activities.

• Support production teams in the safe and efficient operation of recycling machinery.

• Assist in installation, relocation, and commissioning of machinery and equipment.

Job Requirements

• Have COC certification

• Ability to read and prepare drawings

• Hands on experience in plastic recycling machineries maintenance

• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

• Good time-management skills

• Electrical knowledge is a plus

Qualification:

• TVET/Diploma or above in General Mechanics, Fabrication or related field of study or

• BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• 3+years experience in the manufacturing industry as mechanics

• Experience in plastic manufacturing is preferred.
