Saint Gabriel Catholic Health Center (SGCHC) is a not-for-profit nongovernmental organization owned by the Ethiopian Catholic Church (ECC-SDCO,A.A.), and run in collaboration with Brothers of Our Lady of Lourdes or Brothers of Good Works in Ethiopia. The mission of SGCHC is to provide holistic, affordable and quality health care to all, in a compassionate and loving environment consistent with the Christian principles on which we are founded on and promoting access to health care to the less privileged and vulnerable social groups, like women and children and the financially destitute.

SGCHC is providing comprehensive health care services to the population of the catchment area and neighboring woredas in line with the government and the Ethiopian Catholic Church health policy. Accordingly, for the successful implementation of the health center project activities, St. Gabriel Catholic Health Center would like to invite interested and qualified applicants for the following position.   

Job Title- Midwives

Job Summary-The Midwives will be responsible for the day to day activities at the assigned unit of the health center. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• Provide maternal and new born care which include ANC,PNC,PMTCT, attending delivery,immunization,FP counseling

• Works in night shifts, weekends and holiday as per the schedule for midwives

• Provides health education to clients visiting the health center according to the health center schedule especially for ANC and PNC attendants

• Difficult cases in consultation with head nurse or health officer or medical director and facilitates referral if the cases can`t be managed by the health center

• Participates in outreach activities for maternal and health care activities when required.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements 

Education/ Training Required- Diploma/Level IV in midwifery nursing from recognized university or college.  

Experience/Skills/ Required

• A minimum of 3 years’ proven work experience of attending delivery, ANC,PNC services experience on PMTCT is an advantage.

• Good verbal and written skills in English. 

• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.)   

Licenses & Certifications: Should have a valid license and COC certificate 

Number Required- TWO

Salary- As per the scale of the organization
