The Mobile Health and Nutrition Team Leader contributes to the callingof Medical Teams  by managing  day-to-day activity implementation, coordination, and supervision of the Mobile Health and Nutrition Team. The role ensures the efficient delivery of high-quality, timely, and essential life saving healthcare, nutrition, and health education services to vulnerable populations in hard-to-reach or crisis-affected areas.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                                  

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of MHNT/MHT team members, including both clinical and non-clinical staff.

  • implement Medical Teams  standards to ensure quality in primary health services is met and adhered to in all clinic operations.

  • Support functions, ensuring compliance, overseeing security and safety measures, and handling field-level external relationships, including representation.

  • Lead the planning of weekly/monthly MHNT schedules in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure timely collection, compilation, and submission of quality program data and reports.

  • Provide mentorship, support, and on-the-job training to team members as needed.

  • Ensure effective implementation of health and nutrition services in accordance with national guidelines and project objectives.

  • Monitor service quality, clinical protocols, and infection prevention and control (IPC) practices to ensure adherence.

  • Support the outreach and awareness activities within the targeted communities.

  • Liaise with local health authorities, community leaders, and partners to ensure effective service delivery and coordination.

  • Represent the MHNT in coordination forums and meetings as delegated.

  • Ensure that appropriate treatment protocols, as outlined by national guidelines or Medical Teams policies, are followed.

  • Ensure linkages between the Community Health Worker (CHW) program and the clinical program to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Regularly follow and support on requesting medical and non-medical stock itemsto ensure proper resource management.

  • ll patients who present to the clinic, maintaining a patient- centered approach in all services.

  • Oversee staff and colleagues to ensure good infection control practices are maintained, preventing the spread of illnesses both within the clinic and among staff members.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, disposing of waste appropriately.

  • Support the integration of accountability practices into program activities by following established procedures during planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Help ensure that accountability is reflected in day-to-day tasks, team interactions, an when working with partners or communities.

  •  Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents wil remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding code of conduct and behavior expectations.[RM1]

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS    

Required:-

  • Medical Doctor, Health Officer

EXPERIENCE                                                                                                                                                                                    

  • Minimum 4  yrs experience working in direct health service delivery. 2 years’ experience managing operation of health services.

  • Experience working with INGOs 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES                                                                                                                                        

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of development & humanitarian issues and concepts 

  • Fluent spoken and written local langauge and English.

  • Excellent communicator 

SKILLS:
