Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organization (MCMDO) is a national Non-Governmental Organization registered in accordance with the proclamation for Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No 1113/2019 with a certificate No 0022. MCMDO is currently implementing emergency response and development projects in all regions and City Administrations in Ethiopia.
To meet its objectives MCMDO calls for competent professionals to apply for the following vacant position.
Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Head Office (Onsite) with field missions to project implementation areas as required
Salary: Based on organization’s salary scale

Job Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at MCMDO strengthen our ability to measure, learn, and communicate results. This role is central to ensuring accountability, donor compliance, and evidence-based decision-making across our programs.
Core Duties:
Data Collection and Analysis
Design and implement M&E frameworks, tools, and systems aligned with donor requirements.
Collect, verify, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to track project performance.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and audit readiness through structured processes.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare donor-ready reports, dashboards, and learning briefs that highlight outcomes and lessons learned
Translate raw data into compelling impact stories and evidence-based narratives.
Maintain organized records to support compliance and external audits.
Capacity Building & Support
Provide ongoing technical support to embed monitoring and learning into project workflows.
Facilitate reflection sessions to promote adaptive management and continuous improvement.
Donor Compliance & Visibility
Ensure all M&E activities align with donor visibility and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with communications teams to integrate evidence into publications, newsletters, and advocacy materials.
Learning & Knowledge Management
Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for program improvement.
Document best practices and lessons learned for organizational knowledge sharing.
Contribute to strategic planning by providing evidence-based recommendations.
About You
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences, language studies, or other related fields.
Minimum of 1 year professional experience in monitoring and evaluation within NGOs, donor-funded projects, or development programs.
Proven ability to apply monitoring and evaluation principles in development or humanitarian contexts.
Demonstrated track record in designing and implementing M&E systems for donor-funded projects.
Experience managing surveys, translating tools, and ensuring data quality across diverse contexts.
Ability to integrate testimonial and qualitative evidence into reports and donor communications.
Strong proficiency in data analysis and survey management software (SPSS, Excel, or similar).
Excellent communication skills in Amharic and English, with fluency in at least one additional local language.
Ability to translate technical findings into clear, donor-ready narratives.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
