Future Hopes Integrated Development Organization (FHIDO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit, secular, legally registered organization working to building self-reliant and self-sufficient generation in Ethiopia through comprehensive and sustainable development approach. The organization is operational in Addis Ababa City administration, Oromiya, Tigray , Amhara, South Ethiopia and Afar regions.

FHIDO is excited to announce a compelling opportunity for skilled and passionate individuals to join us in our mission to make a difference through the "Bridging the Gap: Enhancing Access to Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC) in Rural Ethiopia" project. This vital initiative, carried out in partnership with the esteemed Core Group Small Grants for Scaled Impact (SGSI), targets the underserved regions of Tigray and Afar. We invite you to apply for the following position and be part of a transformative effort that will significantly improve maternal and neonatal health in these communities.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for the overall monitoring, evaluation and reporting related activities of the project. He/ she will be responsible for designing and implementing the project’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) system. He/ she will lead baseline, mid-term, and end-line surveys, ensuring data quality and timely reporting. Additionally, he/she will develop tools for data collection and produce monthly dashboards and quality periodic reports to support adaptive management.

Number of positions: one 

Salary:  As per the Organization scale

Term of employment:  The terms of employment for the position is one-year contract with possible extension based on proven performance and availability of fund.  

Place of work:   Addis Ababa, with occasional field visits to project sites.

Job Requirements

Education: BSc/MSC in Nursing, Public Health , statistics, or in related discipline

Experience: Minimum 4 years for MSC/ 6 years for BSc, NGO experience in community development work with strong exposure to emergency obstetric and neonatal care (EmONC) related project/program implementation.

Required Skill: 

  • Excellent basic computer skills and demonstrated experience in using different database.

  • Significant experience in data and information management, analysis and excellent conceptual, presentation and communication skills with experience working with non-government organizations in Ethiopia.

  • Experience in program quality management (both service and data quality) and operational research (OR) is required.

  • Knowledge of M&E and data quality management related to health programs, preferably on emergency obstetric and neonatal care (EmONC programs is required.

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in health programs to provide support and guidance to project staff on design, monitoring and evaluation is highly desirable.

  • Well-established data analysis and report writing skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive professional attitude

  • Excellent written and communication skills in English
