Job Purpose/Summary

The Imaging Center Nurse provides safe, patient-centered nursing care throughout the diagnostic imaging process. The position is responsible for patient assessment, preparation, contrast administration, procedural assistance, patient monitoring, recovery care, documentation, and emergency response while ensuring compliance with radiation safety, MRI safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.

The nurse collaborates closely with Radiologists, MRTs, PACS Administrators, Receptionists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow, optimal patient outcomes, and exceptional patient experience.

Job Responsibilities: -

  1. Patient Assessment and Preparation

  • Review medical history, allergies, medications, and laboratory results.

  • Verify MRI safety screening requirements.

  • Assess suitability for contrast administration.

  • Obtain and verify informed consent.

  • Establish IV access for contrast administration and procedural support.

  • Educate patients regarding imaging procedures and expected outcomes.

  1. Contrast Administration and Monitoring

  • Administer contrast media according to approved protocols.

  • Operate automated contrast injectors safely.

  • Monitor patients for contrast reactions and complications.

  • Manage contrast extravasation according to established protocols.

  • Monitor contrast utilization and minimize wastage.

  1. Procedural Assistance

  • Assist Radiologists during invasive and non-invasive procedures.

  • Maintain aseptic and sterile techniques.

  • Prepare required equipment and supplies.

  • Monitor patient status throughout procedures.

  1. Post-Procedure Care

  • Monitor patient recovery and discharge readiness.

  • Assess puncture sites and monitor for complications.

  • Provide discharge instructions and patient education.

  • Document recovery status and discharge outcomes.

  1. Documentation and ODOO/UniRIS Compliance

  • Complete nursing documentation accurately and timely.

  • Record medications, contrast administration, vital signs, and patient responses.

  • Ensure all assigned tasks and workflow activities are documented in ODOO/UniRIS.

  • Maintain audit-ready clinical records.

  1. Safety and Quality Management

  • Comply with MRI, radiation, infection prevention, and medication safety standards.

  • Participate in quality audits and patient safety initiatives.

  • Report incidents, near misses, and adverse events promptly.

  • Participate in quality improvement projects.

  1. Resource and Inventory Management

  • Monitor nursing supplies and emergency medications.

  • Participate in crash cart inspections.

  • Prevent wastage of contrast agents and consumables.

  • Report stock shortages promptly.

  1. Communication and Patient Experience

  • Maintain effective communication with patients and families.

  • Coordinate care with MRTs, Radiologists, PACS staff, and Receptionists.

  • Address patient concerns professionally.

  • Promote a positive patient experience.

Education

  • Diploma Or Degree in Clinical Nurse

Experience

  • 2/1 years work experience in clinical Nurse  

License Required

  • Renewed License in Clinical Nurse
