The Ethiopian Diabetes Association (EDA), established on January 23, 1984 G.C (1976 E.C), is the first patient-based association in Ethiopia. Its purpose is to provide a forum for diabetes patients to discuss prevention, share information, and access treatment.

We are seeking to hire a qualified candidate for the following position:

Reports to: General Manager

Employment Category: One-year contract with possible extension

Position Summary

The Office Support staff will report to the General Manager and provide vital clerical and administrative assistance to ensure efficient office operations. She will act as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communication Management: Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage correspondence.
  • Scheduling & Calendar Management: Coordinate diaries, book appointments, and arrange meetings or travel.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Type documents, draft letters, create presentations, and take minutes.
  • Office Administration: Maintain filing systems (digital and physical), manage databases, and order office supplies.
  • Reception Duties: Greet visitors and serve as the first point of contact for the office.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience; prior experience in an NGO environment is advantageous.

Additional Training

  • Computer training certificate; excellent computer usage skills.

Competencies / Technical Skills

  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong planning and prioritizing skills.
  • Professionalism and facilitation abilities.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
