On behalf of our client (currently under incorporation), we are inviting qualified and dynamic candidates to apply for the position of Operations Manager for a high-end Ice Cream Shop opening in Fiyelbet Summite, Addis Ababa.

About Our Client
Our client is launching a premium ice cream brand, with the first flagship outlet secured in Fiyelbet Summite, Addis Ababa. The business aims to offer a high-quality product experience within a well-designed, customer-focused retail environment. The Operations Manager will play a key role in both the pre-opening setup and the day-to-day operational management of the outlet.

Position: Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Duty Station: Fiyelbet Summite, Addis Ababa
Salary: Approximately ETB 50,000 Gross per month (Negotiable – higher for the right fit)

Job Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field
• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience
• Experience in a similar business (ice cream, café, restaurant, or hospitality outlet) is highly preferred
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Experience in shop setup or pre-opening operations is a strong advantage
• Good understanding of finance, HR, procurement, and regulatory compliance
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in English and basic computer skills
Key Responsibilities
A. Pre-Opening Responsibilities
• Lead the recruitment and onboarding of shop staff
• Design and implement staff training programs (customer service, hygiene, POS handling, SOPs)
• Develop organizational structure and operational workflows
• Oversee shop layout planning and coordination with designers/contractors
• Lead procurement of equipment, furniture, inventory, and supplies
• Establish operational policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Coordinate licensing and compliance requirements
• Prepare opening budgets and operational plans
B. Post-Opening / Operational Responsibilities
• Manage daily operations of the outlet
• Supervise staff performance, scheduling, and discipline
• Ensure high standards of product quality, hygiene, and customer service
• Oversee inventory management and cost control
• Manage procurement and supplier relationships
• Handle basic financial management including daily cash control, reporting, and reconciliation
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements (including reporting to the Revenue Authority and other government bodies)
• Prepare regular operational and financial reports for ownership
• Lead customer engagement initiatives and brand positioning efforts
• Maintain a premium customer experience at all times
