Generic responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Lead the development and implementation of the localisation component of NRC’s country strategy , including the development and institutionalisation of the localisation strategy, guidance , systems and tools, following NRC’s global guidance.
Lead and coordinate the deployment of the partnership approach across all the offices.
Ensure all partners and partnerships adhere to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements.
Support the overview and maintenance of projects implemented with Partners at the country office level, including providing helpdesk support to partners on compliance with NRC and donor requirements.
Maintain relations with a range of partners and work with the country and area teams to identify and pursue suitable and aligned potential partners hips .
Specific responsibilities :
Partnership strategy development :
Develop localisation strategy for NRC Ethiopia, tools, guidance notes, training material , and ensure reporting on Partnership’s component is timely and accurate.
Conduct Due Diligence for each partner and evaluate their capacity for potential strategic partnership with NRC.
Lead the development, drafting, and execution of the strategy implementation plan, ensuring efficient monitoring and evaluation processes are in place.
Facilitate coordination across the Country Office and Area Offices to ensure consistent implementation of the partnership strategy, enabling effective collaboration.
Develop and maintain an up-to-date partner mapping .
Build a network of key partners and stakeholders, keeping abreast of evolving trends (social, economic, and political), including the application of innovation to partnership and project development .
Establish and continuously enhance a robust information management system for the management of partnership information , including partners’ profiles, contract management information, due diligence processes, assessments and reporting status, among others
About You
Generic professional competencies
3-5 years of experience in working in a humanitarian/recovery/human rights or development context
University degree combined with relevant professional background .
Knowledge of humanitarian principles.
Experience in managing and implementing programs in humanitarian contexts .
Ability to work independently and proactively.
Ability to prioritise work given multiple competing deadlines.
Fluency in English and Amharic , both written and verbal
Context-related skills, knowledge and experience
Solid understanding of the Ethiopian civil society and private sector context.
Documented/proven results related to the position’s responsibilities, particularly in private sector engagement and partnership relations , management and/or coordination.
Excellent networking, coordination, training and facilitation skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive , self-motivated and a self-starter.
Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and discretion with confidential information
Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts is an asset.
Programme management b ackground is an asset. Experience in NRC thematic areas (e.g. ICLA, Shelter, LFS, Protection, Education etc.) is a strong asset.
Background in Market Systems Development is a strong asset.
