A pastry chef, also known as a pâtissier, is a skilled professional in a kitchen who specializes in creating pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, bread, and other baked goods according to recipes.

  • Develop new and innovative dessert menus that align with seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

  • Decorate and present pastries and desserts in an attractive and consistent manner.

  • Ensure all pastries and baked goods meet high quality and taste standards.

  • Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and order supplies as needed.

  • Supervise and train junior pastry staff and kitchen assistants.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma/Certificate in Food Preparation, Hotel Operation, and related fields. With relevant work experience as a Pastry Chef at a 3- or 4-star hotel.

  • Experience: 3 years

Required Skills:

  • Supervisory experience

  • Having COC certification is an advantage

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Capable of working in a team environment

  • Highly organized, able to carry out tasks independently and punctual

  • Excellent menu planning, cost control, and recipe preparation ability

  • Proactive, innovative and customer-focused

  • Ability to give attention to detail & Able to work under pressure
