About GOAL

GOAL is a non-for profit organization that has been working in Ethiopia for over 30 years, towards ensuring the poorest and most vulnerable in our world and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food and livelihoods, water and sanitation, nutrition, healthcare and education. GOAL implements a range of multi-sectoral development, resilience, recovery and humanitarian responses programmes by being sensitive to cross-cutting issues including gender, accountably, child protection, HIV/AIDS. Currently, we work with pastoralist, agropastoral, pastoral dropouts, rural small holder farmers, rural/urban youth and street children to respond to humanitarian crises and build resilience in Ethiopia working closely with local communities, local government, donors and other key actors. GOAL E Humanitarian Response is centered on nutrition, WASH, livelihoods, multipurpose cash, NFIs and protection interventions in country wide while the recovery and development focus on livelihoods, economic opportunities, health, health and nutrition system strengthening and WASH with solid emphasis on integrated programming and community-based approach in Oromiya regional state. The Street Children programme is implemented with local partners in Addis Ababa and Hawassa.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE:
Pharmacy technicians dispense prescription and over the counter medication to customers or health professionals assemble medicines for prescriptions and provide information about medications.
Key Areas of Accountability/Duties
Accepting written prescriptions or refill requests from patients and evaluating information for completeness and accuracy.
Recording medical histories while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Delivering quality customer service to patients, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests, and referring them to the pharmacist for medical information.
Verifying the accuracy of patient information.
Counting prescription medication, filling prescriptions, and typing and attaching medication labels.
Performing inventory audits and purchasing supplies and medication.
Receive and process prescriptions, completing necessary paperwork
Verify that information is complete and accurate
Prepare medication for dispensing to the patient
Manage inventory, inform pharmacists of any shortages or expired medications
Perform administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, handling cash transactions
Maintain patient confidentiality according to health and safety standards
Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve issues
Package and label prescriptions
Educate patients on how to take medication, including potential side effects or interactions
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and maintaining patient records, managing inventory, packaging and labeling medication doses, and processing insurance claims.

REQUIREMENTS
Essential recognized degree in Pharmacy/ druggist and COC, and registered license from the recognized institution for level IV, and 2 years of previous experience and previous experience in governmental specialized, referral hospitals,
