The Officer, under the overall leadership of the Manager, Procurement & Property Administration Services and guidance of the Senior Officer, is responsible for the operational duties of the unit like preparing Procurement reports, gathering Procurement data, and follows up the implementation of Procurement standards throughout the company. S/he conducts purchases of materials and services; ensures proper deign and maintenance of suppliers’ lists; ensures the completion of proper banking and insurance documents for procurement; ensures compilation of perform as in the case of purchase requirements; and submits reports periodically.

 

Roles and Responsibilities 

  1. Participates in the team’s work planning and program sessions as well as annual budget preparations

  2. Checks for the approval of submitted purchase requisitions 

  3. Conducts credit purchases from identified suppliers 

  4. Makes purchases of items of required quality as per their specifications

  5. Maintains proper records of suppliers’ lists

  6. Submits purchased items to stores with proper documents 

  7. Receives invoices from suppliers; notifies selected bid suppliers; and fulfills proper banking and insurance formalities for procurement

  8. For items decided to be purchased with working capital, conducts purchase without performa; and submits such to the store

  9. Receives purchase requisitions from work units and orders them for implementation

  10. Submits reports to the Division Manager

  11. Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Manager.

Job Requirements

  1. Academic requirement: BSc /BA/ Diploma / Level 4 in Supply Chain Management/ Procumbent. 

  2.  Work experience: 2/4 years’ experience in designing and processing effective Local/Domestic procurement system in large entities with trading, agricultural, and transport sector involvement is advantageous. Knowledgeand experience in preparing Local/Domestic procurement manuals, systems, policies and standards is a benefit.
