Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with related field of study

  • Experience: At least 3 years relevant employment experience in program/project management or coordination.

  • Location: Addis Ababa, travel to project sites in Ethiopia

  • Type of Contract: Contract duration until end of 2025, with possibility for extension.

  • Working hours: 40 hours/week

  • Gross Monthly Salary: EUR 850

  • Other benefits: 80% reimbursement of health costs and supportive team and flexible working

Duties and Responsibilities

Partner Assessment

  • Support FELM program managers in conducting thorough assessments of partners focusing on governance, legitimacy, and financial management systems to ensure compliance with Felm’s standards.

Proposal Review

  • Validate partner’s project proposals in collaboration with the country director, program manager and finance officer prior to endorsement.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Implement ongoing monitoring and evaluation of partner projects with the program manager to ensure alignment with project plans and goals.

  • Provide recommendations and support for improvement as necessary. The role may include field trips as part of monitoring visits outside of Addis Ababa.

Capacity Building

  • Organize and support training for partners on project management, advocacy, and effective output measurement to enhance project delivery

Reporting

  • Prepare narrative reports for stakeholders, including Felm management, donors, and the Ethiopian government, as outlined in contracts and agreements.

Peer Learning Facilitation

  • Promote knowledge sharing and co-learning within the Felm partner network as needed.

Media and Communication Responsibilities

  • Collect material for Felm’s communication and reporting as instructed (e.g. human interest stories and social media).

  • Ensure all media content is approved by the Country Director and/or Program Manager before publication.

Other duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Country Manager and Program Manager, such as minute taking.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of project management cycle and financial management.

  • Willingness to work with churches, faith based organizations and people from diverse ethnic groups and backgrounds.

  • Strong knowledge of human rights and equality.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English language. Amharic language is a must.

  • Good knowledge of the NGO work in the country.

  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other IT- platforms.

  • Outgoing personality with strong relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage priorities, complexity, strategic thinking.

  • Strong team player.

  • Adaptability to fast-changing situations and environments (in monitoring visits around Ethiopia)
