The firm provides professional consultancy services in food security, social affairs, economic development, health and nutrition, gender equality, education, and climate change for international NGOs, development institutions, and local NGOs. KiCoRT Consulting is currently seeking dynamic and outstanding candidates to join its team and contribute to the implementation of high-impact projects that deliver meaningful and lasting change to people’s lives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Implementation

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and implementation of research, evaluation, and consultancy projects.

  • Prepare comprehensive project inception reports, including detailed work plans, timelines, and methodological frameworks.

  • Monitor project performance, proactively identify risks and implementation challenges, and apply timely mitigation measures to ensure successful project delivery.

Research Design and Execution

  • Prepare field guidelines and provide training to data collection teams on data collection methodologies, tools, ethical considerations, and quality assurance requirements.

  • Develop robust quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, data collection tools, and analytical frameworks aligned with project objectives.

  • Oversee all field data collection activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards, timelines, and ethical protocols.

  • Participate directly in qualitative data collection activities, including Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).

  • Compile, clean, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, generating clear and actionable insights.

Reporting and Knowledge Products

  • Draft, review, and finalize high-quality project deliverables, including inception, baseline, midline, and endline evaluation reports.

  • Prepare and deliver high-quality PowerPoint presentations for internal and external stakeholders, clearly communicating key findings and recommendations.

  • Develop policy briefs, technical summaries, and other knowledge products to support evidence-based decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement and Representation

  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, government counterparts, NGOs, and development partners throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Represent the company in validation workshops, stakeholder consultations, and client debriefings.

  • Build and maintain strong and productive relationships with partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Team Supervision and Capacity Building

  • Supervise and mentor research associates and field teams, providing technical guidance on methodologies, quality assurance, and reporting standards.

  • Promote internal knowledge sharing and continuous learning across project teams.

  • Work closely with data management staff, researchers, and other organizational departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, with field travel as required

Job Requirements

  • PhD, MSc, or MPH in Public Health, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years (PhD) or 6 years (MSc/MPH) of proven professional experience in research and consultancy.

  • Candidate with Medical Doctor (MD) background is an added advantage.

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills are essential.
