Development through Adult and Non-Formal education (DANFE) is a local CSO established July 2004 by the number of Volunteers who were dedicated to support vulnerable community groups in the country. Since its establishment, it works both on Development and Humanitarian interventions. DANFE has been working in the area of Humanitarian support, Survivor centered protection and GBV service, Emergency education Response, , Humanitarian support for IDPs, Accelerated Learning program(ALP) for over-aged out of school children, Women Economic Empowerment, climate change resilient livelihoods,  Peace building and conflict prevention, 

Role and Responsibility

  • Lead protection programs and strategies

  • Ensure gender equality is included in all activities

  • Supervise protection staff

  • Coordinate with stakeholders and partners

  • Experience in capacity building, advocacy, and developing gender strategies/tools.

Salary: - As per as the organization scale

Project duration:-12 months (May 1,2026 – April 30,2027

Job Requirements

Qualification

Education

  • 1st Degree in law, human rights, international relations, social work, or related field

Experience

  • 3-4 years Gender advisor 

  • Previous work with NGOs, or government protection agencies in humanitarian settings

Required skill

  • Experience in multi-sectorial coordination, advocacy, capacity building, and protection monitoring.

  • Strong strategic planning, report writing, and donor reporting skills

  • Expertise in gender analysis, gender-responsive programming, and integration across sectors (protection, health, livelihoods).

  • Knowledge of Ethiopian gender policies, legal frameworks, and cultural dynamics.

  • Strong facilitation, coordination, and report writing skills.
