Dodai assembles electric two-wheelers locally and plans to expand to major cities across Ethiopia by the end of 2026.

Purpose of the Position

The Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring products meet established quality standards by conducting incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections. The role supports production by identifying quality issues, maintaining inspection records, driving corrective actions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to continuously improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct IQC, IPQC, and OQC quality inspections to ensure compliance with company quality standards.

  • Verify that production activities comply with approved work instructions, inspection criteria, and quality procedures.

  • Identify defects, report non-conformities, and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, defect logs, and other quality documentation.

  • Monitor key quality metrics, including First Pass Yield (FPY), defect rates, and inspection completion.

  • Support investigations into customer complaints and field quality issues, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Collaborate with Assembly, Warehouse, Engineering, and Repair & Maintenance teams to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence.

  • Support supplier quality activities by inspecting incoming materials and reporting non-conforming components.

  • Promote quality awareness by providing guidance to production teams on quality standards and best practices.

  • Participate in internal audits, process improvement initiatives, and implementation of standardized quality procedures.

  • Maintain quality reports, inspection records, defect logs, and quality performance documentation.

  • Handle assigned quality tools and equipment properly, ensuring they are used, maintained, and stored in accordance with company procedures. 

  • Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and workplace safety requirements.

  • Immediately escalate quality, safety, or production issues that are beyond the scope of authority or technical capability to the Quality Supervisor or relevant stakeholders.

  • Prepare, review, and maintain quality documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), inspection checklists,Training  and quality records

  • Perform 5S &  other tasks as directed by your supervisor.

Job Requirements

Key Qualifications and Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering.

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of quality inspection methods and manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to use measuring tools such as vernier calipers, multimeters, torque tools, and other inspection equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement concepts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.

Job Requirements The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field, with 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Manufacturing, or Production Engineering.
