EnsureThe Quality Assurance Expert is responsible for ensuring consistent product quality across all farm processes—from production, harvesting, post-harvest handling, packhouse operations, and dispatch. The role requires a professional with strong experience in quality assurance, preferably from the food or agro-processing sector, who can implement, monitor, and continuously improve quality standards across the farm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Monitoring & Control

• Monitor quality at every stage: field production, harvesting, grading, packing, storage, and shipment.

• Identify defects such as bent stems, broken stems, handling damages, and incorrect specifications.

• Ensure quality standards are consistently met according to customer and internal requirements.

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action

• Investigate recurring quality issues and determine root causes.

• Work closely with production, the packhouse, and supervisors to implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Track and reduce repetitive quality failures.

Quality Systems & Documentation

• Maintain quality checklists, inspection forms, and daily quality reports.

• Ensure proper implementation of SOPs across all processes.

• Support compliance with international standards such as GlobalG.A.P., Fairtrade, and customer-specific requirements.

Training & Awareness

• Train workers, scouts, harvesters, and packhouse teams on quality standards and handling procedures.

• Raise awareness on proper harvesting, handling, bunching, and packing practices.

• Ensure new employees understand and follow quality procedures. 5. Continuous Improvement

• Analyze quality trends and provide recommendations to management.  Propose improvements in processes, tools, and handling practices to reduce quality losses.

• Participate in quality meetings and provide weekly and monthly analysis.

Job Requirements:

• Education: BSc in Food Science, Agriculture, Horticulture, Industrial Engineering, or related field of study

• Experience: 3 years and above of relevant work experience in quality assurance, preferably in the food, horticulture, or agro-processing sector.

• Experience with quality systems, audits, and documentation.

• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Skills and Abilities:

• High attention to detail

• Strong communication and reporting skills

• Practical understanding of field and packhouse operations

• Ability to enforce standards with fairness and discipline
