The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor will oversee and implement quality control and quality assurance processes within the design and construction stages of GIFT Real Estate projects. The role ensures that architectural, structural, MEP, and finishing works meet company standards, client requirements, Ethiopian building codes, and relevant international best practices. The QA Supervisor will work closely with the design team, project management, site engineers, and contractors to guarantee quality delivery from concept to handover.

  • Reports directly to: Manager – Design & Quality Assurance Department

  • Supervises: QA Inspectors, QA/QC Engineers (design stage), and Documentation Control staff

  • Collaborates with: Lead Architect, Structural Engineer, MEP Engineers, Procurement, and Project Managers

  • Role in hierarchy: The QA Supervisor bridges design quality control (office-based) with construction quality control (site-based), ensuring consistent standards from concept design to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance in Design

  • Review architectural, structural, and MEP design documents to ensure compliance with company standards, local building codes, and project requirements.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to address design inconsistencies and quality issues before project execution.

  • Conduct design audits at different project stages and provide improvement recommendations.

  • Ensure all design deliverables undergo formal quality checks before submission or approval.

2. Quality Control in Construction

  • Develop and maintain QA/QC checklists and inspection procedures for ongoing projects.

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure construction quality aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and materials.

  • Monitor and verify the use of approved construction methods, materials, and workmanship.

  • Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions with contractors and site teams.

3. Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian building codes, environmental and safety regulations, and GIFT Real Estate’s quality policies.

  • Benchmark quality standards with relevant international guidelines (ISO 9001, LEED, etc.) where applicable.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality control documentation.

  • Prepare periodic quality reports for management, highlighting risks, quality trends, and recommendations.

5. Coordination & Training

  • Provide technical guidance and training to engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors on quality requirements.

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure materials meet required specifications before approval.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality assurance/quality control in the construction or real estate sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and finishing works.

    • Knowledge of Ethiopian building codes and relevant international standards.

    • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools; experience with QA software is a plus.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Certification: QA/QC training, ISO 9001 certification, or equivalent is an advantage.
