Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing project costs, contracts, and financial documentation throughout the lifecycle of building construction projects. This role ensures accurate quantity take-offs, timely preparation of payment applications, effective handling of variations, and proper contract administration to support successful project delivery.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or with related field of study

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in construction projects 

  • Quantity Required: 2

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for building works (structural, architectural, finishes, MEP).

  • Verify subcontractor and supplier quantities against project drawings and specifications.

  • Maintain updated records of material usage and labor quantities.

  • Prepare interim payment applications and final accounts for clients.

  • Review and certify subcontractor payment requests based on actual progress.

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and project milestones.

  • Identify, evaluate, and document variations in scope (design changes, additional works, site conditions).

  • Prepare variation orders and claims documentation for client approval.

  • Negotiate variation costs and timelines with clients and subcontractors.

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts with clients and subcontractors.

  • Monitor compliance with FIDIC or local building contract standards.

  • Maintain records of correspondence, agreements, and contractual changes.

  • Support dispute resolution processes with proper documentation.

  • Provide cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial updates to project management.

  • Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and procurement teams.

  • Ensure timely communication of financial and contractual issues to stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of building construction methods, materials, and standards.

  • Familiarity building contract frameworks.
