I. Job Summary

Addis Ababa Silk Road General Hospital is seeking an organized, detail-oriented radiologic technologist to operate imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities include following physicians' orders regarding the area of the body to scan, positioning patients and equipment, and answering patients' questions. The radiologic technologist will use imaging equipment to capture images of tissues, bones, organs, and vessels and may assist with radiology procedures.

To be a successful radiologic technologist, you should be compassionate and have good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with patients. You should have good technical and analytical skills.

II. Duties & Responsibilities

Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities:

• Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations.

• Positioning patients and equipment, explaining the procedures, and ensuring patients' comfort.

• Inserting commands and data into the computer to document and specify the scan sequences and monitoring the video display to adjust the density or contrast.

• Monitoring patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.

• Producing diagnostic images, such as CT, MRI, and X-Ray images, reporting important information to the Physician, and updating patients' records.

• Organizing the daily procedure schedules for emergencies and monitoring radiographic supplies.

• Performing administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.

• Performing scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.

III. Minimum Requirements

A. Education & Experience

• A bachelor's degree in radiology Technology from an accredited University/college.

• A license to practice radiography.

• Have one or more years of Experience.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and compassion.

• Good mathematical abilities and technical skills.

• Good organizational, time management, and analytical abilities, and attention to detail.

B. Skills & Competencies

• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to offer empathetic emotional support to patients and their families.

• Collaboration: A proven ability to work effectively within a team-oriented healthcare environment.

• Communication: Fluency in English (written and oral) is required.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong computer literacy for Electronic Health Records (EHR) and diagnostic software.

• Ethics: A steadfast commitment to high ethical and professional medical standards.
