Job Summary

The purpose of Infrastructure Engineer/ Specialist position is to provide technical backstopping to field offices in all activities related to water and irrigation infrastructure. Moreover, he will provide the required support for the implementation of community sub projects. He/she is supposed to assist the planning and design of structures and systems, construction and supervision of different infrastructures and provides proper guidance on the development of operation and maintenance plans. Moreover, he/she is expected to assist capacity building and knowledge management activities related with infrastructures developed and/or rehabilitated by the project with an emphasis on community water supply and small-scale irrigation schemes so that water supply both for human, livestock and irrigation practices will get improved at the rangeland clusters to sustainably improve livelihoods of the community and build resilience against man-made and natural shocks.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Water Supply Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or with related field of study
  • Experience:  Minimum of 4 years relevant professional experience, at least 2 years with development partners in the planning, design, construction, supervision and management of various infrastructures especially water points and small scale irrigation projects.
  • Quantity Required: 1
  • Project: Phase II Lowlands Livelihood Resilience Project (LLRP-II)
  •  Duty Stations: Rangeland Cluster Support Team (RCSTs), Zone Capitals
  • Terms of Contract: One year contract subjected to renewal based on performance.
  • Salary: - As per the scale of the projects

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to work in team and independently
  • Good command in English and must have good communication skills
  • Computer application skills (AutoCAD, Knowledge of GIS, Microsoft Offices & others)
  • Good report writing
