Position Overview

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for clients, families, visitors, and professional partners at Addis Ability. This role is essential in ensuring a welcoming, organized, and professional environment.

The Receptionist manages appointments, handles front-desk and telephone inquiries, supports client flow, and performs basic administrative tasks. The role also facilitates communication between clients and clinical or training teams, contributing to smooth daily operations.

This full time position requires strong communication skills, a respectful and friendly attitude, excellent organizational ability, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and professional service standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist clients, families, visitors, and professionals in a friendly and professional manner
  • Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow efficiently
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide accurate information about services
  • Support client registration and basic intake procedures
  • Maintain an organized and professional reception area
  • Coordinate communication between clients and clinical/training teams
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and organizational information
  • Support billing or payment-related administrative processes when required
  • Contribute to smooth daily operations and team coordination at the reception area

Profile / Requirements

  • Friendly, professional, and welcoming personality
  • Strong communication skills in English and Amharic
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email, scheduling systems)
  • Ability to manage appointments, phone calls, and front desk responsibilities
  • Educational background and/or work experience in nursing, public health, or related health sciences is an advantage
  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a busy and dynamic environment
  • Strong respect for confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Diploma in reception, office administration, or related field preferred
  • Advanced English skills in reading, writing, and communication
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or client-facing role is an advantage
