Introduction

Minab IT Solutions PLC (HaHuJobs™), through the STEEP project, invites qualified Individual Consultants to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the development of comprehensive, exam-focused educational content for Ethiopian high school students (Grades 9–12) in Biology.

The purpose of this REOI is to pre-qualify consultants based on their profile, experience, and capability. A full technical and financial proposal will only be requested from shortlisted candidates.

Detailed Scope of Services and Instructions

The selected Individual Consultant will be responsible for the pedagogical design, creation, and preparation of all content components for the Biology curriculum (Grades 9-12, total 28 units), strictly following the Ethiopian Ministry of Education curriculum framework.

The consultant's output must comprise the following three components for each of the 28 units:

A. Summary Video Scripts & On-Screen Presentation (Instructional Video Content)

• Script Development: Develop detailed, accurate, and engaging video scripts covering all key concepts of the unit. The scripts must be exam-focused, concise, and structured for optimal video production.

• On-Screen Presentation: The consultant must serve as the primary on-screen educator and presenter for the video recording sessions, which will take place at Minab IT Solutions' facility in Addis Ababa.

• Instructional Approach: The videos should focus on exam preparation, clarifying complex biological concepts, and demonstrating effective problem-solving techniques relevant to national examinations.

B. Short Notes (PDF Reference Material)

• Create comprehensive, exam-focused PDF reference materials for each unit.

• The notes must summarize key concepts, include diagrams, definitions, and provide practical exam preparation ideas.

C. Assessment Tools (Quizzes)

• Develop 30 high-quality assessment questions per unit (totalling 840 questions across all 28 units).

• The quiz questions must be multiple-choice or short-answer format, accurately reflecting the style, difficulty, and scope of Ethiopian national examinations (Grades 10 and 12).

•  Each question must be accompanied by the correct answer and a brief explanation/rationale.

Requirements:

• Interested individuals must provide robust evidence demonstrating they meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Relevant academic qualifications (degree/post-graduate) in Biology, Biological Sciences, Education, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience or content development experience in Biology at the high school level (Grades 9-12).

• Thorough understanding of the Ethiopian Ministry of Education Biology Syllabus framework and national examination formats for Grades 10 and 12.

• Proven experience in creating high-quality, exam-focused instructional materials.

• Must be articulate, fluent in the instructional language, and comfortable serving as the on-screen presenter for video recordings.
