Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk and Legal Consultant to join our team. This role combines internal risk management and compliance responsibilities with external client advisory and revenue generation. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements while delivering high-quality legal and corporate advisory services to clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Risk & Compliance (Internal)
Ensure compliance with internal policies, risk management frameworks, and quality standards
Perform independence and conflict of interest checks for engagements
Act as a focal point for compliance matters, including data protection and regulatory obligations
Review engagement acceptance and continuance procedures
Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments
Maintain proper documentation and reporting of compliance activities
Provide guidance and training to teams on risk, ethics, and compliance
Promote a strong risk-aware culture across the organization
2. Legal Advisory & Client Services (External)
Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and employment documents
Conduct legal due diligence and risk assessments
Support business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring
Manage company registrations, license renewals, and liquidation processes
Handle business visas, work permits, and residence permits
Liaise with regulatory authorities on behalf of clients
Support dispute resolution and manage legal risks
3. Company Secretarial Services
Manage company incorporation, registration, and governance processes
Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with corporate requirements
Prepare board resolutions, minutes, and shareholder documentation
Organize and coordinate board and shareholder meetings
File statutory returns and regulatory documents
Advise clients on corporate governance best practices
4. Business Development & Client Engagement
Identify and develop new business opportunities
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Participate in networking and marketing initiatives
Contribute to achieving departmental revenue targets
Lead and manage multiple client engagements across industries
Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of client projects
5. People & Leadership
Lead, mentor, and coach junior team members
Support performance management and career development
Foster a collaborative and professional team environment
Continuously develop technical and professional expertise
About You
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); Master’s degree or professional certification is an advantage
Minimum of 3–7 years of relevant experience in legal advisory, corporate services, or risk & compliance
Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and regulatory laws
Experience in company secretarial work and regulatory liaison
Proven ability in client relationship management and business development
