About the Organization
Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is an Ethiopian National Civil Society Organization, established in Addis Ababa 2020. The organization is officially registered in accordance with legislation on Agency for Civil Society Organization by the registration number of 5164 with mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged people through increasing their access to Health and Education services, supporting Income Generation and improving the natural environment, WaSH, one to one sponsorship, Humanitarian Response program and Peace and Reconciliation by applying a holistic and participatory approach.
Job Summary
The role holder ensures the security of employees, capital assets, and proprietary information of the organization by providing strategic direction, tactical management, emergency planning, and disaster recovery strategies. The role holder works in conjunction with the human resources department to provide safety consultation and services to the entire workforce. The position is responsible for keeping safety of employees, executives and the physical work area from any physical threats.
Roles and Responsibilities
Designing, implementing and maintaining security protocols, policies, plans and systems to cover all possible security threats,
Facilitate safety in the daily activities of the workplace,
Secures the organization and its people by maintaining an intelligence network; designing and implementing policies and strategies of organization security
Identify any potential threats to employee’s information or physical safety,
Determine executive protection requirements by gathering and reviewing pre-planning travel intelligence information, issuing travel advisories, modifying travel itineraries, making travel security arrangements, including guards, secure accommodations and security equipped transportation,
Designing effective evacuation strategy, plan and proposal,
Ensure employees and visitors have the necessary training and/or accessible information to safely exit and move away from facilities in emergency situations,
Running risk assessment and security tests and designing countermeasures to eliminate as many potential risks as possible,
Analyze and assess security systems and measures, study potential breaches and suggest applicable solutions,
Collaborate with Human Resources to lead or assist with any internal investigations,
Fight internal security threats as well as external ones,
Select and implement the most effective systems for protecting staff,
Interact with all employees to keep them well-informed of best security practices,
Lead educational efforts to empower staff to prevent security threats of any kind,
Develop, write and publish materials outlining security procedures for the organization,
Training staff to recognize and defend against security breaches and risks.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Law or related field and special training in law enforcement such as military or police.
Experience
At least three years of experience in a consultative or security management position
Previous experience in NGO or INGO is highly preferable,
Previous experience working in a conflict/post-conflict or crisis environment is highly desirable
Skilled
Excellent analytical, organizational and decision-making skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Strong leadership skills
Excellent computer skills
Excellent multi-tasking skills
Proficiency in both written and verbal communication
Ability to combat physical threats in the workplace
A highly logical, honest and objective nature
