Job Summary

The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation and handling of LPG products by preventing over-pressurization, leakage, fire hazards, and physical damage to cylinders or bulk tankers. The role involves conducting safety inspections, monitoring transportation activities, enforcing safety protocols, and coordinating emergency response procedures.
Fresh graduates with strong technical understanding and safety awareness are encouraged to apply.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or with related field of study

• Experience: 0-1 year

• Employment Type: Permanent

• Job Location: Kaliti, Addis Ababa

• Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Salary: Attractive and negotiable based on qualifications and experience

Duties and Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities & Safety Checks

• Conduct pressure monitoring and safety inspections before transportation

• Perform pre-transport inspections of cylinders, valves, seals, and tankers

• Ensure safe cargo securing and loading practices

• Verify vehicle suitability and transportation safety standards

• Maintain safety documentation and compliance records

Safety Supervision During Transit

• Monitor transportation activities to prevent heat buildup and unsafe exposure

• Supervise loading and unloading activities to ensure safety compliance

• Enforce safety zone protocols and operational procedures

• Conduct leak detection and hazard monitoring during operations

Emergency Response Responsibilities

• Support emergency preparedness and response procedures

• Coordinate incident handling and reporting activities

• Assist in implementing corrective and preventive safety measures

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of industrial safety principles and transportation safety practices

• Good communication and reporting skills

• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

• Ability to work responsibly under operational environments
