Job Purpose:- To drive merchandising strategy that ensures profitability while building a long-term collaboration with brand partners, merchants, buyers, and suppliers. The incumbent works on everything from winning and maintaining new and existing customers, respectively to implement marketing and growth strategies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans and executes merchandising strategies to optimize product assortments and

  • maximizes sales and profitability. 

  • Analyzes market trends, customer preferences, and sales data to make informed decisions on product selection, pricing, and inventory management.

  • Develops and manages merchandising budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to drive sales and meet financial targets.

  • Conducts regular store visits and market research to evaluate product performance,

  • identifies opportunities, and address any potential issues.

  • Coordinates with suppliers and vendors to negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to maintain optimal inventory levels.

  • Oversees product presentation and visual merchandising to create compelling and attractive displays that enhance the overall shopping experience.

  • Monitors competitor activities and market trends to stay ahead in the market and identifies new opportunities for growth. 

  • Develops and implements promotional strategies and campaigns to drive customer engagement and increases footfall. 

  • Provides guidance and direction to the merchandising team, fosters a collaborative and performance-driven work environment. 

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and sales, to align merchandising strategies with overall business objectives. Coordinates with various departments and monitors various store setups and resets in region. 

  • Monitor retail price for competitors and maintain appropriate pricing for products accordingly. 

  • Monitors and applies various merchandising methods and ensures an increase in productivity. 

  • Supervise everyday operations and monitor the progress of each project. 

  • Develops productivity targets for organization and evaluates performance of all employees. 

  • Develops and manages a network of internal and external business partners; 

  • Negotiates and executes sales contracts across all product lines and sourcing contracts.  Negotiates deals in a fair and compliant manner to sustain relations and maximize the value generation, as defined by the financial objectives for return on the transactions, on a short- and long-term basis. 

  • Tracks inventory movement and systematically introduces promotions, sales, price changes, etc. ü Identifies trends and monitoring supply and demand. 

  • Collaborates with the marketing department to brainstorm new projects, campaigns, and business ideas.

  •  Interprets sales reports and provides guidance on how to improve figures and customer engagement. 

  • Develops plans for expansion and business development. 

  • Understands existing customer relationships and their requirements to ensure they are being met. 

  • Collaborates with and coordinates diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service, etc.)

  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor. Generic Duties of the Position: 

  •  Plans, leads, organizes, staffs & controls department’s overall activities, Designs and implements procedures, systems, and tools to maximize departmental operating efficiency, 

  • Assesses risks by following industry trends to ensure profitability, company survival and provide solutions, 

  • Coaches, mentors, and develops employees through periodic performance evaluations and ongoing performance dialogue and feedback, 

  • Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Skills

Education

  • BA or MA in Marketing Management, Business Administration, or Management or Economics or related field of studies.

Experience

  • 8 years of total experience, out of which 3 years and above on Managerial role.

Skills 

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and team-player skills.

  • Good Leadership Skill

  • Good Business Commercial Acumen
