Position: Senior Accountant

Patchee Food Manufacturing PLC is a confectionery manufacturing company specializing in the production of a wide variety of chocolates. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant who will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making within the company. This full-time position, based in our Addis Ababa office, requires a professional with 5-6 years of experience in accounting and finance. The Senior Accountant will prepare balance sheets, income statements, and financial forecasts, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets and income statements.

• Develop and analyze financial forecasts and budgets to support strategic planning.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards, including IFRS.

• Analyze and prepare Tax reporting documents along with other team members.

• Utilize accounting software such as Peachtree and QuickBooks for efficient financial reporting.

• Conduct financial analysis and reporting to identify trends and variances.

• Implement cost management strategies to enhance profitability.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Coordinate with auditors during financial audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable to optimize cash flow.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and accounting teams to support financial decision-making.

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

• Prepare accurate financial records, including detailed balance sheets and income statements.

• Proficient knowledge of Ethiopia's Tax and other compilatory regulations.

• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for advanced data analysis and reporting.

• Demonstrate proven experience with accounting software, such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, or ERP systems.

• Apply knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and IFRS, in day-to-day operations.

• Effectively multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Manage cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.

• Conduct thorough financial analysis and reporting to support business objectives.

• Communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

• Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all financial documentation.

• Adapt to changing financial regulations and standards proactively.

Desired Skills:

• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Amharic; additional languages are a plus.

• Exhibit strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration.

• Demonstrate problem-solving abilities in financial contexts.

• Build positive relationships with colleagues and external partners.

• Show adaptability and willingness to learn new accounting practices and technologies.

Skills (mandatory): 

Cost management, Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS and ERP, Proven experience using accounting software such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems, Prepare accurate financial records, balance sheets, income statements, financial forecasts, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Financial Analysis & Reporting, Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Skills (desired): Fluent in both written and spoken English and Amharic; additional languages are a plus. Teamwork and Interpersonal Skills

• Work experience: 5-8 years
