Position: Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Accountant to oversee our financial operations, with specific expertise in import and retail business accounting, Ethiopian tax compliance, and modern accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations for import and retail business activities

• Ensure full compliance with the Ethiopian Tax Code (VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and other statutory obligations)

• Prepare and file accurate tax returns and financial reports in accordance with Ethiopian revenue regulations

• Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory records

• Process import-related financial documentation (customs duties, freight, letters of credit, etc.)

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports

• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting

•  Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required

• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all financial transactions

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or professional certification such as ACCA/CPA is a plus)

•  Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience in accounting, specifically within import and retail business environments

•  In-depth knowledge and practical experience with the Ethiopian Tax Code

• Hands-on experience with Peachtree (Sage 50) Accounting Software is mandatory

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and high level of integrity

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

Fluent in English and Amharic (both written and spoken
