Position: Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing core accounting functions with a strong focus on inventory control, cost of goods sold (COGS), and manufacturing cost analysis. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records and optimal inventory valuation and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.

• Monitor and analyze inventory transactions including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

• Manage inventory valuation, adjustments, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes.

• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams.

• Analyze and report inventory aging, stock movements, and obsolescence provisions.

• Oversee cost accounting processes: BOM analysis, standard cost updates, variance reporting, and margin analysis.

• Preparation  of financial statements and internal reports related to inventory and production costs.

• Support budgeting and forecasting, especially around inventory usage, turnover, and procurement.

• Coordinate with auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff when needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).

• Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing and inventory-intensive environment.

• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting cost of goods sold, and standard costing.

• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics; strong Excel skills required.

• Solid understanding of financial and tax regulations and compliance in a manufacturing setting.

• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
