We are seeking an analytical, precise, and highly motivated Senior Accountant to oversee key financial accounting operations and ensure the integrity of our financial statements. In this role, you will lead month-end close procedures, manage the general ledger, handle tax compliance, prepare detailed financial reports, and ensure strict adherence to accounting standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Accounting & Finance, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.

Experience:

• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years of practical experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Revenue Accounting, or a similar position. Experience in restaurant, supermarket/retail, agriculture, manufacturing, FMCG, distribution, or other multi-branch business environments is highly preferred.

Technical Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable and credit control procedures.

• Proven experience in customer account reconciliation, invoicing, collections and receivable aging.

• Strong understanding of sales and revenue reconciliation.

• Experience reconciling POS sales, cash, bank deposits, mobile payments and accounting records.

• Knowledge of credit sales, customer deposits, debit/credit notes and bad debt management.

• Ability to prepare receivable aging reports and follow up overdue balances.

• Knowledge of month-end closing, general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting.

• Good understanding of internal controls, audit requirements and financial documentation.

• Knowledge of applicable Ethiopian tax and accounting requirements.

Computer Skills:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS and financial reconciliation.

• Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems.

• Experience with POS and financial reporting systems.

• Good command of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
