Senior Accountant (Female only) 

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a mandatory minimum of 2-3 years spent specifically in the construction industry. This role is critical in managing the financial health of our projects, ensuring accurate job costing, revenue recognition, and compliance with construction-specific accounting principles (IFRS/Ethiopian standards)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the proper application of revenue recognition methods (e.g., IFRS 15: Revenue from Contracts with Customers) for all active contracts.

• Perform complex general ledger account reconciliations and analyses, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

• Manage the accounting cycle for our business center, including recording rental income, tracking tenant deposits, managing related operating expenses, and ensuring compliance with lease agreements. (Our company owns a business center that it rents out)

• Lead the timely and accurate completion of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

• Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial reviews and tax preparation, providing necessary documentation.

• Ensure compliance with all Ethiopian tax laws and financial reporting regulations relevant to the construction industry.

• Identify and implement improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in general accounting, where the last 2 years were a senior position.

• A minimum of 2-3 years of recent, dedicated experience in construction accounting is non-negotiable.

• In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), specifically regarding construction contract accounting.
