Job Summary
The Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets will be responsible for managing and controlling the company's fixed asset accounting activities, ensuring accurate recording, valuation, depreciation, reporting, and compliance with IFRS and Ethiopian accounting standards. The role supports financial reporting, asset control, and audit requirements while providing technical guidance to junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisition, capitalization, transfers, and disposals
• Ensure proper recording and reporting of fixed assets in compliance with IFRS and local regulations
• Oversee depreciation calculations and monthly/yearly depreciation postings
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers
• Coordinate physical asset verification and periodic asset counts
• Review asset-related accounting records and supporting documents
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of asset additions, disposals, impairments, and revaluations
• Prepare fixed asset reports for management and auditors
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Assist internal and external audit processes
• Support ERP system utilization and process improvement initiatives
• Guide and support junior accounting staff

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, Financial Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant accounting experience
• Manufacturing sector experience is mandatory
• Experience in the cement industry is a strong advantage
• Experience in fixed asset accounting and IFRS application is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting
• Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and coordination skills

Job Requirements The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 6–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing and cement industry.
