Cobuilt Solutions is a growing Ethiopian company operating across the construction, manufacturing, and import sectors. Our activities include ready-mix concrete production and supply, architectural design, consultancy, and importing materials and products that support our operations.

What you’ll be doing

As Senior Accountant, you will oversee accounting and financial reporting for our ready-mix concrete and import operations. You will ensure accurate records, proper import-cost accounting, regulatory compliance, effective controls, and timely reporting.

You will report to the Finance Manager or Head of Finance, supervise junior accounting staff, and collaborate with management, procurement, logistics, operations, stores, banks, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and auditors.

You will be responsible for…

• Overseeing accounting for ready-mix concrete, import, shipping, and logistics operations.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports.
• Managing foreign supplier accounts, foreign-currency transactions, bank transfers, letters of credit, and import-payment documents.
• Reviewing shipping charges, customs duties, insurance, bank fees, clearing expenses, and logistics invoices.
• Preparing landed-cost calculations and correctly allocating import expenses to inventory.
• Monitoring receivables, payables, cash flow, supplier balances, and customer accounts.
• Reconciling bank accounts, inventory, supplier accounts, customs records, goods in transit, and import-clearing accounts.
• Ensuring compliance with VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, pension, customs, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinating with banks, suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents, auditors, and government offices.
• Supervising junior accountants and strengthening financial and documentation controls.

What skills and experience you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
• At least five years of accounting experience, including two years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Experience in an importing, logistics, trading, construction, manufacturing, or inventory-intensive company.
• Practical experience with import costing, foreign suppliers, foreign-currency transactions, and landed-cost calculations.
• Knowledge of letters of credit, bank import procedures, customs documentation, and goods-in-transit accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax requirements, customs regulations, statutory reporting, and IFRS.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Peachtree/Sage or a comparable accounting system.
• Strong supervisory, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work accurately, maintain confidentiality, and meet strict deadlines.

What we need from you

• Permanent, full-time, office-based employment.
• Location: Kera Area, Addis Ababa.
• Working hours: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Availability during month-end, year-end, tax-reporting, budgeting, and audit periods.
• Ability to visit operational sites, banks, and government offices when required.
